Vom Start an im Jahr 1978 war der Prelude in den darauffolgenden 20 Jahren das Aushängeschild von Honda in Sachen Design und Technologie, immer auf Spitzenniveau. Nun kehrt er nach einer sehr langen Pause in der ersten Hälfte des Jahres 2026 auch zu uns nach Deutschland zurück.

Daheim in Japan ist die 6. Generation schon seit ein paar Tagen zu haben, hat der Verkauf im September gegonnen. Sie ist um die 4,5 Meter lang, knapp 1,9 Meter breit und 1,36 Meter hoch.
Der 184 PS starke Elektromotor soll mit 315 Newtonmeter Drehmoment für dynamische Spurtwerte sorgen.
Unterstützung bekommt dieser von einem auf hohe Sparsamkeit getrimmten Zweiliter-Benziner mit besonders hohem Wirkungsgrad (Atkinson-Prinzip) und rund 140 PS.
Der lädt in der Regel die Batterie, kann jedoch in manchen Tempobereichen die Räder direkt zusammen mit dem E-Motor antreiben.
Eines der technischen Highlights in diesem Wagen ist ein virtuelles Doppelkupplungsgetriebe mit insgesamt acht Gängen. Das soll zukünftig auch in weiteren Modellen von Honda kommen.
Preise und weitere Daten sind noch nicht bekannt.
Daheim in Japan kostet der Prelude 6.179.800 Yen.
Klingt viel, doch das sind Stand heute umgerechnet etwa 36.000 Euro.
Aus den Erfahrungen anderer Modelle sollten wir allerdings mit einem Einstiegspreis von deutlich über 40.000 Euro rechnen. Doch das ist nur unsere Vermutung, in ein paar Wochen wissen wir mehr.

Honda has announced
plans to feature S+ Shift on future hybrid electric vehicle (HEV)
models.
Technology has been smartly integrated into the cabin with a focus on the driver, including a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 9-inch HD color touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, Google built-in and a wireless smartphone charger.
